Hi, and welcome to a little look around in my studio.
There are a lot of things that has been changed sins I did the old studio page, so it was time for a serious updates.

Left wall with a sofa where no one can ever sit.
I call my studio “The Blue Room Studio” (you have to be colour-blind to not see were the name came from) just from the simple fact that everything in it is blue. I think that blue is a nice and very relaxing colour (it is even a very good colour to have on your Pike lures when you go fishing).
I just have to step out of my closet and come clean on this, I admit, I am a obsessed lover of blue (it doesn’t necessarily mean that I have to like swimming, even if I like to take a bath from time to time).
Here is what sort of equipment I use to record my music and to get the work done. (One thing that I would like to say here is that it’s not really about the equipment you have, the most important thing is to know how to get the most out of them. You can make decent recordings with almost everything out there).

Right wall, full of guitar-heros. You can see my Duck Allan on the speaker.
The studio is built around a 2.8 GHz PC with 1024mb ram. It is hooked up to two 19” screens so I can see a little more of the programs that are in use.
I run four programs in it and only that, no internet, no nothing, it’s for music only (and it really helps to get it working without endless computer crashes).
The programs are (in the order they are used)
ReCycled is a clever little program that I used for chopping up loops and too turn them in to Rex2 format (too be used in the loop players in Reason).
It is also great for stealing drum sounds or what ever from CD’s.
Reason are used for all my programming of drums, bass and everything ells that you hear in my songs (except for guitar and vocals).
This is basically where the music is being made and the program that I use when I compose my music.
Cubase are used as a multi-track recorder where I do all recordings of guitar and vocals. I don’t really use all the “computer things” that is available in that program so it is basically just as a multi-track hard drive that it is used. The only other thing that I use it for is too mix the songs.
I move all the music from reason in here as wave files even if it works to sync Cubase and Reason thru ReWire (but I don’t know how that works).
WaveLab is used for mastering and fixing bad audio files, you will get plenty of those. I Love WaveLab.

This room has too much shit in it.
My guitar tone is recorded like this (click for a diagram of my studio guitar setup). The main recording amp is a Peavey Prowler all tube combo but I do sometimes use any of these amps, ENGL Sovereign 100 Vintage 210, FENDER M-80, LANEY PL-50. I do, from time to time, put a pedal (click to see a picture of some of the pedals that I use) before the amp for some different sounds but 95% of all my recordings are a guitar straight in to the Peavey amp (click too see the settings on the amp).

The working area, you can see our new dog "Svante" on the monitor,
he is 8 weeks old. Yes, it is a Abba album under the table.
There are also a bunch of “out of the computer” gear that I use from time to time, some more then others. Here is a list of some of the gear and what it is used for.
Yamaha SY-85 keyboard, used for playing drums, bas and “what ever” on. The sounds in it are too bad to use for anything.
Mackie CR1604-VLZ mixer, used to control all my sound sources with and to get some decent microphone preamps.
Roland M-GS64 sound module, it has a lovely low finger bas sound that I sometimes use when that is needed.
Roland PMA-5 sequencer/sound module. (Never used)
Yamaha MU90R sound module. (Never used)
Gonher plastic gun, “you have to be able to protect your family” (said with a southern American accent at a Gun Association meeting).
Yamaha MU-80 sound module, sometimes used for its amazing pad sounds.
Alesis D4 drum module. (Never used)
BBE 462 sonic maximizer, always hooked up to the main insert on the Mackie.
BBE 362XL sonic maximizer, sometimes used in the insert on the guitar channel for heavy riff sounds. I really think these little things are amazing on everything, they just make the sound come alive.
DBX 266 compressor, used for controlling the signal when I record vocals (not my voice, thank god)
Behringer AutoCom compressor, never used because it sucks.
Alesis Quadraverb effects processor, hooked up to Aux 1 on the Mackie.
Alesis Quadraverb2 effects processor, hooked up to Aux 2 on the Mackie.
3 Alesis Midiverb4 effects processors, hooked up to Aux 3, 4 and 5 on the Mackie.
Yamaha SPX90 effects Processor, hooked up to Aux 6 on the Mackie. It has a very good and warm sounding delay that I really like.
All the effects are used for getting a pleasant sound on guitar and vocals when I record them. It is tuff to sing and play good with a totally dry sound.
But it is always recorded dry so I can choose the effects when I mix the songs, I hate being stuck with to much effect on a recorded guitar.
Everything is played through a NAD 2155 studio amplifier, Alesis Monitor One and Sonab D-series speakers.
I also have various microphones that I use for vocals and other stuff.
